Rover/Ranger is the higher wing of Bharat Scout and guide. This is a youth movement that encourages young minds to work in cooperation for the welfare of the society.

The Mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society

Rovering / Rangering is a way of life. It’s the senior wing of Scouting and Guiding. Rovering / Rangering was started by founder of the Scout Movement Lord Baden Powell in 1918. Any regular student of College/ University between the age group of 15 to 25 years can be enlisted as Rover (Boy) / Ranger (Girl).

A unit consists of 24 Rovers called Rover Crew and 24 Rangers called Ranger Team Rovering / Rangering is a uniformed activity.

A Rover crew is run under the leadership of Rover Scout Leader and Ranger team is run under the leadership of Ranger Leader registered in college. Any regular male student can join Rover crew and female student can join Ranger Team.

The oath for the rover/ranger scouts is: “On my honour, I promise that I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country, to help other people and to obey the scout/guide laws.”

Duty to God: Adherence to spiritual principles.

Duty to others: – Loyalty to one’s country in harmony with the promotion of local, national and international peace, understanding, cooperation.

Duty to self: Responsibility for the development of oneself.
